The New Trainer
I stumbled across this new trainer at the 2017 SHOT Show this past January. The MantisX Firearms Training System. I spoke with those working the MantisX booth and was able to procure a unit to try out myself. As a former competitive shooter, I enjoyed testing this new trainer on both pistols and rifles.

When asked to review the FNH FNS .40 I was so excited I yawned and considered a nap instead. Double-stack, plastic-framed, double-action-only handguns are so common right now I could not, at first, find the excitement. Looking closer, however, the FNS series includes some new features making it worth a look.
This article is a comparison of revolvers, specifically an old single-action .357 magnum Hawes Firearms “Western Marshal” and a double-action .357 magnum Colt Manufacturing “Trooper Mk III.” While it may not be exactly “fair” to compare a single-action to a double-action, both are good revolvers with interesting histories, and different enough to provide an entertaining comparison. I enjoyed shooting and learning about them both.
The Internet back-and-forth on the Canik (pronounced Janick) TP9SA is so fierce I am actually hesitant to wade in with this review.
